Wafer Butterfly Valve

1. Structure and installation

Structural features:

The butterfly plate is disc-shaped and installed along the diameter of the pipeline. The valve body is a cylindrical channel, and the butterfly plate rotates around the axis (0°~90°).

It is mainly installed horizontally, with a simple and compact structure, few parts, small size and light weight.

Connection method:

Clamp-on type: clamped between two pipe flanges by stud bolts to save installation space.

2. Operation and performance

Opening and closing characteristics:

It can be opened and closed quickly by rotating 90°, which is convenient to operate; when fully open, only the thickness of the butterfly plate forms resistance, the pressure drop is small, and the flow control performance is excellent.

Applicable scenarios:

It is mostly used in oil, gas, chemical industry, water treatment and thermal power station cooling water systems, especially suitable for large-diameter pipelines.

3. Sealing type

Elastic seal:

The sealing ring is made of synthetic rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which can be embedded in the valve body or around the butterfly plate.

Advantages: good sealing; Disadvantages: limited temperature resistance (limited by material).

Metal seal:

Using metal materials such as stainless steel, it is resistant to high temperatures and has a long service life, but it is difficult to achieve complete sealing.
