A butterfly check valve is a valve that automatically opens and closes, the valve disc by the flow of the medium itself, and is used to prevent the medium from flowing back. The function of the butterfly check valve is to allow the medium to flow in one direction only and prevent the flow in the other direction. Usually, this valve works automatically. 

Under the pressure of the fluid flowing in one direction, the valve disc opens; when the fluid flows in the opposite direction, the fluid pressure and the self-reclosing valve disc act on the valve seat, thereby cutting off the flow. The check valve can also be used on pipelines that provide supply to auxiliary systems where the pressure may rise to exceed 

the system pressure.
