What Is Resilient Sate Gate Valve

The wedge gate valve can be made into a whole, called a rigid gate; it can also be made into a gate that can produce a slight deformation to improve its processability and compensate for the deviation of the sealing surface angle during the processing. The gate is called an elastic gate.


What Is Resilient Sate Gate Valve


Soft-sealed gate valves are divided into two types: rising stem soft-sealed gate valves and concealed stem soft-sealed gate valves. Usually, there is a trapezoidal thread on the lifting rod. Through the nut in the middle of the gate and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotary motion is converted into linear motion, that is, the operating torque is converted into operating thrust. When the valve is opened, when the gate lift height is equal to 1:1 times the valve diameter, the fluid passage is completely unblocked, but this position cannot be monitored during operation. In actual use, the top of the resilient sate gate valve stem is used as a mark, that is, the position where it cannot be opened, as its fully open position. In order to consider the locking phenomenon caused by temperature changes, it is usually opened to the top position and then reversed 1/2-1 turn as the position of the fully open valve. Therefore, the fully open position of the valve is determined by the position of the gate (that is, the stroke). This type of valve should generally be installed horizontally in the pipeline.

 

Since 2010, many domestic valve manufacturers have developed resilient sate gate valves. Compared with traditional wedge-type or parallel double-disc gate valves, this type of gate valve has the following characteristics:

 1. The valve body and valve cover of theresilient sate gate valve are cast by precision casting, which is formed in one step, and no mechanical processing is required. No sealing copper ring is used, which saves non-ferrous metals;

2. There is no pit at the bottom of the resilient sate gate valve, no slag is accumulated, and the failure rate of the gate valve opening and closing is low;

3.  The size of the soft-sealed rubber-lined valve plate is uniform and the interchangeability is strong. Therefore , the resilient sate gate valve will be the development direction of the gate valve, and it is also a valve that the water supply industry is willing to use. When opening and closing the resilient sate gate valve, do not close it too tightly, as long as the water-stopping effect is achieved, otherwise it will be difficult to open or the rubber lining will peel off. Most of the butterfly valves used in the water supply industry are soft-sealed butterfly valves. In view of the fact that the rubber ring of the butterfly valve is easily damaged during the installation process, which affects the sealing performance, many manufacturers have introduced metal-sealed butterfly valves instead of rubber-ring-sealed butterfly valves. Metal-sealed butterfly valves generally use eccentric structures due to the low elasticity of the seal, especially three-dimensional eccentric structures.


There are several types of valves, such as butterfly valves, gate valves , ball valves and plug valves , which are used in different ranges in water supply networks. In order to reduce the depth of soil covering the pipeline , butterfly valves are generally used for pipelines with larger diameters; gate valves are used for pipelines with little effect on the depth of soil covering; ball valves and plug valves are difficult to cast and process, and are expensive, so they are generally suitable for small and medium diameter pipelines. Due to the improvement of casting technology, the use of resin sand casting can avoid or reduce mechanical processing, thereby reducing costs. Therefore, the feasibility of using ball valves on large-diameter pipelines is worth exploring. As for the dividing line of caliber size, it should be divided according to specific circumstances in various places. The main disadvantage of butterfly valves is that the butterfly plate occupies a certain water-passing section , which increases a certain amount of head loss; although gate valves do not have this problem, the height of large-diameter vertical gate valves affects the depth of soil covering the pipeline , and the length of large-diameter horizontal gate valves increases the horizontal area occupied by the pipeline, affecting the arrangement of other pipelines; ball valves and plug valves maintain the advantages of single gate valves, small water flow resistance , reliable sealing, flexible movement, and convenient operation and maintenance. The plug valve also has similar advantages, but the water-passing cross-section is not a perfect circle.

Features:

·Flat bottom valve seat

Traditional gate valves often have foreign objects such as stones, wood, cement, paper scraps, and other debris accumulated in the groove at the bottom of the valve after water is passed through the pipe. This can easily cause the valve to not close tightly and cause water leakage. The bottom of the resilient sate gate valve adopts the same flat bottom design as the water pipe, which is not easy to cause debris to accumulate, allowing the fluid to flow smoothly.


Overall rubber coating

The valve plate is made of high-quality rubber inside and outside. The domestic first-class rubber vulcanization technology enables the vulcanized valve plate to ensure accurate geometric dimensions. The rubber and ductile iron gate are firmly connected, not easy to fall off and have good elastic memory.


Corrosion resistance

The valve body is coated with powder epoxy resin to prevent corrosion and rust of the valve body and can be used in sewage systems.


·Not easy to break

In the past, traditional cast iron gate valves often broke due to foreign objects hitting, colliding or overlapping. Since this valve uses ductile iron instead , this situation can be greatly reduced.


Three "O" ring seals

Since the valve stem adopts a three-"0"-shaped ring sealing design, the friction resistance during opening and closing can be reduced, water leakage can be greatly reduced, and the sealing ring can be replaced without stopping the water supply.


·Helps with drinking

Since the inside of the valve body is coated with non-toxic epoxy resin and the inner and outer surfaces of the gate are completely covered with rubber, there will be no rust or corrosion, and it can be drunk raw.


·Precision casting valve body

The valve body is precision cast, and the precise geometric dimensions ensure the sealing of the valve without any finishing inside the valve body.


Lightweight

This valve is made of ductile iron casting , and its weight is about 20%-30% lighter than that of traditional gate valves . It is easy to install and maintain.
